These terms and conditions form part of the agreement between the client/patient and Dr Sharon Belmo Dermatology. Your accessing of this website and/or undertaking of a booking indicates your understanding, agreement to and acceptance, of the full terms and conditions contained herein. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
The following terminology applies to our terms and conditions: “We”, “us” and “the clinic” refer to our clinic, Dr Sharon Belmo Dermatology. “You”, “client” and “patient” refer to you, the person accessing this website and accepting the clinics terms and conditions.
Private Health Insurance Policy
Dr Sharon Belmo is recognised by all major UK health insurance providers. If you are unsure about the level of your insurance cover, please discuss this with your insurance provider before making an appointment.
If you plan to use your health insurance provider, you will need to obtain pre-authorisation and a pre-authorisation code from them. We require your membership number and pre-authorisation code by the time of your appointment in order to invoice your insurer directly. If you do not have these, you will have to self-fund your appointment and make a retrospective claim. Please note, each insurer has different processes for this. We recommend you familiarise yourself with your own insurers policy as they may not reimburse in full. We will provide you with a medical letter after your appointment and an invoice to support retrospective claims, but we do not reimburse insurance shortfalls.
Please note, if your insurance policy has an excess on your policy, this will be due on the day of your appointment (and any subsequent appointments).

For all insurance patients, valid credit or debit card details will be kept on file. A fee of £100 will be taken for late cancellations or rescheduled appointments (within 3 working days of booked appointment date), or failure to attend.

Most private health insurance providers will cover consultation and treatment fees for medical problems when pre-authorisation is obtained. Diagnosis and treatment of cosmetic / aesthetic issues is not usually covered by insurance providers however, whether UK based or international. Please also note that not all insurance providers cover hair loss consultations and/or treatments. If you wish to be seen for hair loss and have private health insurance, please check with your provider before attending your appointment.
Unfortunately, we cannot deal with your insurance provider directly, but are able to assist you. At the time of your service, if you / we believe you have valid insurance coverage, but later find out, for whatever reason, you were not covered, you herewith acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for the entire fee.
Self-Funding Payment Policy
If you are self-funding your consultations and treatments, we request upfront payment of the full consultation or procedure fee in order to secure your booking. A payment link will be sent via email. Alternatively, payment can be taken over the phone. If payment is not received within 24 hours, your appointment slot will be released. Please note that all procedures, blood tests and other lab tests (e.g skin swabs) will incur charges in addition to consultation fees. Please refer to services/pricing for a complete price list.
Facility Fees
For procedures only - A fee is charged by Dr Belmo’s clinic premises to account for the provision of facilities, nursing assistance and materials. This is independent of Dr Belmo’s procedure price and is to be paid directly to the premises on the day of the procedure. These fees can be discussed prior to, or during your consultation with Dr Belmo. If you have private health insurance, in most cases, your provider will cover these fees. We recommend that you check with them advance. Facility fees are not applicable to consultations.
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 3 working day's notice to cancel or re-schedule appointments. Notification via telephone (02081244616) or email (info@drsharonbelmo.com) will be accepted. If leaving a message on our answer phone, please clearly mention your name and date of birth.
Failing to attend or cancelling/reschedule consultations with less than 3 working days' notice will incur the full consultation charge. In an instance of a second non-attendance or cancellation/re-scheduling with less than 3 working days’ notice, we reserve the right not to issue another appointment.
Data Handling / Privacy Policy
Any information you give us during your consultation or treatment is protected under the Data Protection Act. Your records may be kept on paper or electronically. We may use your contact details to send you (electronically) clinic letters, information about new treatments, newsletters or special offers.
